Do people choose which sex they are attracted to?

I personally feel that people are born heterosexual or homosexual. One reason for this is because young people who have expressed that they are homosexual go through so many hardships growing up that I feel it is obvious that no person would choice this type of live if having an option. Homosexual children experience a very high dose of ridicule and alien nation growing up if they embrace their sexuality.

Homosexual children not only get emotional damage growing up, but physical damage also. For example, there have been teenagers beaten and even killed for embracing their sexuality to the public. If children and teenagers had the choice whether to fit in or be alienated from their piers wouldn’t you think they would choice to be normal?

Coming from a family with a gay relative, I know how hard it could be on people. When my uncle finally confused to my grandfather that he was gay, it took a very long time for my grandfather and other relatives to get over this. This is very common in other families too. A family member will admit to the other family members that he or she is gay and the family members turning their back on the person. Lucky in my family they got over it. Nobody would choice for this to happen.
